Zero : The Review

Shahrukh Khan……its enough if you want to see what the acting actually is. Yes, he is back again with his new BauwwaPanti in movie Zero. The movie released on 21st of December and it’s a treat for SRK fans. So the movie starts in a Meerut, where a vertically challenged person Bauwwa(SRK) starts his journey. A physically challenged but cute, hilarious, ambitious and ‘Zindadili ki dukaan’ person. And from here Anand L. Rai gives you a journey to Delhi, Mumbai and finally the USA.

The story is a love triangle between ambitious SRK, a NASA scientist Anushka and a ‘bigdail but diljali’ Katrina. The film shows different shapes and struggle of a middle-class person and also gives a glimpse of the dark side of the so-called celebrities. It’s about how many surprises and ups & down are there in Bauwwa’s life.

The first half is actually full of Masala and paisa wasool where we see the amazing acting skills of Shahrukh and other star casts. Especially the tough role is played like a knife over butter by SRK. We should appreciate Shahrukh for doing such a role which is actually very challenging and it needs guts for such stars to play such kind of out of the box game. So, in short, this film can be seen for the amazing work of SRK. The first half is actually good and fulfills the expectations simultaneously awakes the higher hopes for the after interval show.

But things were not as expected. The story starts crumbling in the second half and sometimes you are forced to say, “Ye dikha kya rahe ho bandhu!”. Specially when crew lands on USA for the climax, things get bit disturbed. The tightness of the story slowly gets out of the way and somewhere it becomes ‘ittuuuuuu si’ boring. But the acting skills of SRK trying enough to handle every hurdle.

About acting, Shahrukh Khan is defining the acting yet another time. Zeeshan Ayyub, playing the role of Bauwwa’s friend is awesome for no doubt. Tigmanshu Dhulia and Brijendra Kala gets a small piece of work but have done nicely. Anushka Sharma has done a good job but could be better. But surprise package is Katrina Kaif, she has done great justice with her role. And probably this is her best act till date. And other supporting actors have done a good job. The cameos of Salman and Lt. Sri Devi also appealing but not the need of the story.

Conclusion, the first part is good, the second part is a bit slow and could be better. But overall this a good movie and ‘Super Se Bhi Oopar’ work by Shahrukh. So definitely one-time watch if want to see good work by SRK, but yaar story aur script pe thoda dhyaan de lete tooooo ……..
